First General Assembly – Steering Committee

Monday 29th of April 2024, we had an insightful first General Assembly/Steering Committee meeting for FORCYS project!

Project FORCYS – “An alternative Floating OffshoRe wind turbine Concept technologY deSign“ – seeks to offer novel insights, based on physical and computational modelling and analysis, towards to develop, design and promote an alternative floating offshore wind turbine as an innovative energy conversion system that can be used in coastal and offshore locations off the Greek coasts.
FORCYS brings together an interdisciplinary team of experts in computational analysis of floating wind turbines, physical and environmental modelling, techno-economic analysis and business key players, seeking to form a Greek “excellence hub” on a key emerging research theme in offshore wind turbines technology.

The Civil Engineering Department of International Hellenic University acts as the Host Institution of the project with Coordinator Assistant Professor Constantine Michailides. FORCYS Collaborating Organizations are the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, HELLENiQ ENERGY, Dalian University of Technology and National Kapodistrian University of Athens.

During the assembly, it was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on our progress, share key updates, and chart the course for future research endeavors for creating the first Greek Floating Offshore Wind Turbine concept. Our collective insights and dedication continue to drive forward the frontiers of research in Floating Offshore Wind Turbines.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the vibrant discussions! Your commitment is invaluable to the success of our project.

Let’s keep the momentum going as we push the boundaries of knowledge together! Stay tuned for more updates and exciting developments. (http://www.forcys.civil.ihu.gr/)
