FORCYS; An alternative Floating OffshoRe wind turbine Concept technologY deSign
The main objective of the FORCYS is to develop, design and promote an alternative floating offshore wind turbine as an innovative energy conversion system that can be used in coastal and offshore locations off the Mediterranean coasts.
The project will deliver the computational and experimental modeling of the FORCYS floating offshore wind turbine and the achievement of a TRL4 technology level at the end of the project based on techno-economic studies.
Non-linear hydrodynamic effects will be studied, quantified and coupled, as well as, the use of concrete material and/or steel frames as the structural component of the FORCYS platform for supporting wind turbines with large capacity.
