WPs

WP1 Project Management

The goal of WP1 is to ensure the project unfolds on timeline and available budget as well as to ensure engagement, steering, and completing of individual WPs and maintain close cooperation of all research team members.

WP2 Numerical analysis / performance analysis and possible integration

The main target of WP2 is the development of methods and integrated numerical analysis computational tools for the dynamic analysis of FORCYS and for the assessment of its response and performance as far as functionality and survivability. A numerical model will be build capable for the inclusion of non-linear hydrodynamic loads and for the numerical modeling of different types of FOWTs platforms.

WP3 Experimental Testing

The goal of WP3 is to carry out, link and develop laboratory experiments as a means to support the techno-economic studies and further development of the novel FORCYS floating offshore wind turbine.

WP4 Techno-economic studies and further development

WP4 aims at addressing aspects necessary for the wider utilization of the FORCYS project outcomes and to seek paths towards its further development. The objective is to validate and demonstrate the project outcomes applying a techno-economic analysis and controlling the relevant LCOE.

WP5 Floating offshore wind turbine FORCYS TRL4 design

The goal of WP5 is to conclude on a laboratory validated FORCYS design with measured Key Performance Indicators. The validated technological feasibility of FORCYS by integrating its basic components into an efficiently functioning system reaching TRL4 will be achieved.

WP6 Dissemination and Communication

In WP6 the FORCYS results with peers in the research field, industry, other commercial players and policymakers will be shared while the utilization of FORCYS results for research and commercial purposes will be achieved.
